Announcing the official recipe for the September Baking Challenge! All of the details and rules for how to participate in the challenge for a chance to win one of the PRIZES are detailed below.

Today I’m announcing the recipe for the September Baking Challenge.

Your amazing Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk Bars from the August challenge were all so mouthwatering! Stay tuned for a recap post on that challenge soon, where I’ll also be announcing the winners. Good luck!

This next baking challenge is going is super exciting because there’s THREE prizes up for grabs, and a step-by-step video you can follow along with so it’s like I’m right there in your kitchen with you!

But first, let’s reveal the recipe… CINNAMON ROLLS! In any flavor you can dream up, so get ready to be creative!

In the recipe post I show you how to make three really fun flavors with a bunch of tips and tricks for getting perfectly fluffy and beautiful rolls. There’s a step-by-step video as well!

I’ve teamed up with Red Star Yeast to bring you this challenge and the amazing prizes they’re generously providing!

If you’re intimidated by working with yeast then this is the perfect opportunity to expand your culinary skills! I promise it’s not as difficult as it may seem and I’m here to help every step along the way this month.

Here’s how to participate in this challenge:

Step 1: Make a batch of Cinnamon Rolls in any flavor you want. Be sure to use my Ultimate Simple Dough recipe as the base.

Step 2: Take a photo of your rolls and share it before September 30th 11:59pm MST.

Click the button that says “SUBMIT YOUR ENTRY” – this will pop up a little widget where you can submit your photo:

  • You can select your entry photo from Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, OR upload directly from your computer, tablet, or smart phone.

You MUST submit your photo using the entry widget. If you simply upload to social media without directly submitting your photo through this widget, your entry will *not* be counted.

There’s also a few optional bonus entries to increase your chances of winning!


Every person who submits a photo following those directions will be entered into a random giveaway to win the following prizes:

  • (1) Grand Prize: A $250 Digital Gift Card and 1 Ultimate Bread Baking Kit
  • (2) First Place Prizes: Ultimate Bread Baking Kit (ARV: $148)

The prizes are open to participants in the U.S. and Canada only.

The three winners will be selected randomly; so don’t worry about taking a perfect picture. Your photos may be put on display to share with my entire audience – that’s hundreds of thousands of people! I will email the winner. Winner must reply within 48 hours or a new winner will be chosen. Official rules are listed in the entry widget.

    I loved the cinnamon roll challenge! I stumbled across this site for the first time looking for a good dough recipe to work off and am so glad I did. The challenges are great incentive to try something new and attract new people. The Ultimate Dough recipe is the best and fluffiest my cinnamon rolls have ever looked. I made half of mine regular and the other half with pumpkin spice (if you are ever looking for new flavors, I highly recommend trying pumpkin spice in the filling & using the pecan gooey topping from your pecan rolls for their topping. I substituted caramel for the corn syrup instead). My whole family loved them and after seeing the enormous rise in the dough, I have my Mom convinced to try this dough recipe & Red Star yeast next time she makes her own. Thanks for what you do and for helping those of us who like to experiment take a lot of the guesswork out of it!
