The best place to ask is right in the comment section of the specific recipe post. You’ll usually get a quicker responseโand your question (and its answer!) can help other bakers, too. Be sure to skim the existing comments firstโyour answer might already be there!
Wondering about substitutions?
Some recipes can handle simple swaps (like full-fat yogurt for sour cream), but most baking ingredients are less flexible. Baking is a science, and each ingredient plays an important roleโsugar, for example, does more than just sweeten.
If I’ve tested a substitution, it’ll be noted in the blog post or recipe card. If not, it likely hasn’t been tested, and the results may vary. For that reason, I can’t offer personalized advice for substitutions or dietary modifications.
Pan sizes & conversions
If a recipe has been tested in multiple pan sizes, those options will be listed in the blog post or recipe card.
Because pan size, depth, and material all affect baking time and results, I’m not able to offer untested pan conversions or custom size recommendations. If it’s not mentioned in the recipe, it likely hasn’t been tested, and the results may vary.
