So, What is Christmas in July?

Apparently, the roots of the Christmas in July concept trace back to the late 1800s. It was popularized by advertisers in the 1950s. I associate it mostly with the Hallmark channel. I just love the idea of adding a little sprinkle of magic into the summer months. Why not?!
